Originally the painting was a harsh criticism on exclusively money-orientated people who I met and a protest against the Nobel Price for economy from 1992.

But today the painting gets an actual meaning in face of the worldwide financal crisis. Considering 1992, the year of its creation, it is a really predictive painting because the 100 DM bank note in the centre is not real. It is a coloured copy but it can be replaced by a real American one dollar note which I own. The painting is predictive, because at this time the money itself became the goods which were completely separated from the real goods. And now we know that the creation of debts and credits without any real background lead into a abyss. If the balance sheets of the banks and insurance companies show the complete truth, all of them will be going bust, and that worldwide.
